After almost 800 KM drives from the Brande Cache in Alberta to Fort Nelson, we were almost beaten up and did not expect any good meals in such a suburban town. We checked in hotel, asked the lobby to locate a good steak house in town, and here we are. The Prime Rib tasted just tender and juicy. Lasagne was rich and tasty too. Caesar salad was quite fresh too. In all, the environment and foods both were very good.
Finally came to the price. It is expensive, and so do other grocery items in town. We purchased a gallon of drinking water in the only grocery nearby, and found the price tag is almost 4 times as expensive as you can get in almost any supermarket in the San Francisco Bay Area where I from. Therefore forget about the price tag, just sit down and enjoy the good foods and services while you are here. -

Good meal for me, great meal for him. The horseradish sauce was freshly grated, and his prime rib was well-crusted. My salmon and baked potato was just like I would have gotten from any medium priced restaurant at home, except for the premium veggies.
Follow up: the breakfast was stellar. Upgrade to four stars! -

This is a great restaurant in a very small town. You can expect fine dining, great service and you can expect to pay for it. It is expensive, but everything in town is. The hours are not great as they are usually closed at lunch but they serve a great breakfast and a great supper. I have had everything from steak and eggs to porridge to an omelet and I have enjoyed it each time. Supper has been good as well. I eat here regularly on my trips to Fort Nelson.
On a side note, this is a good hotel. The new wing is very nice. -

We were staying at the hotel and decided to check out the restaurant for dinner. We arrived at 7:15. Dinner is served until 8. A sign indicated that we should seat ourselves. We waited 15 minutes at a table near other diners before we had to go to the back and ask for menus. Multiple times a waitress served tables around us without coming to our table. The food was good but nothing special for the price. However we were definitely rushed to finish our dinner. If I'm in Fort Nelson again I would much rather find another option.
